Sometimes users may be hesitant to click a button because they aren’t sure what the consequences will be. Especially with “larger” choices like signing up for an account or buying something, it’s important that users know what to expect.
Sometimes, simply explaining this can help put users more at ease. Just put a sentence or two under the button explaining what will happen. Do you have a CTA to sign up for a trial for a piece of software? Put some small text under it saying
“After you click “Submit”, you will receive an email with an activation link. Your trial will start when you click this link. We will not send you any spam.”
There, that already feels better, doesn’t it?
